Graphic Designer

Hey there!

I'm on the hunt for a few volunteer graphic designers who are itching to help build something special and their portfolio. And by special, I mean The Double Down community where your pixels and vectors aren't just pretty decoration—they're part of the experience. I've developed design directions and need support building them into assets for the 2025 season, crafting an identity that truly resonates.

Let's be clear: we're not talking about "making just a flyer" here. We're talking about crafting visual journeys that make people feel things. If you're nodding vigorously right now, keep reading.

You might be perfect for this if:

  • You understand what The Double Down is and want to use your talents to build the community, resources, opportunities for us

  • You're borderline obsessed with graphic design (no judgment, same here)

  • You know the Adobe suite like the back of your hand

  • You've mastered that delicate dance between pixel-perfect precision and "let it breathe" organic energy

  • You're Black and New York City based (for now—this is non-negotiable as we're building locally first)

  • You see design opportunities in everything from vintage cereal boxes to random sidewalk cracks

  • Your work ethic makes coffee nervous

  • You're hungry for portfolio-building opportunities that actually mean something

  • Deadlines don't scare you—they motivate you

  • You roll your eyes at designers who only follow trends on Instagram

  • You find inspiration in the weird, wonderful, and unexpected corners of life

  • You find the most interesting fonts, mock-ups and transitions

  • You see invitations, emails, social media posts and deck templates as storytelling opportunities

  • You're itching to create something that genuinely hasn't been done before

If you're reading this thinking "they're literally describing me," then we should absolutely chat. This is your chance to continue to shape something from the ground up.

Email info@the-double-down.com if you're interested. Please no dms.In the email include examples/links where you go/look for inspiration and your work—especially the pieces that made you think "I can't believe I made this" or "nobody's going to get this but I love it anyway."

    No dms please. Email only.

YOU WILL HEAR BACK BY EOD Saturday May 17th.

Your future portfolio (and our community) will thank you!
